Miele Guard M1 Cat & Dog Canister Vacuum
The Miele Guard M1 Cat & Dog is an excellent fit for pet owners whose homes are mostly hard floors with low pile area rugs or carpeting. Its included SBD 365-3 AllTeQ combination floorhead switches between hard surfaces and low pile rugs, while the STB 305-3 TurboBrush adds a rotating brush to lift pet hair from low pile area rugs and carpeting.
Pet hair also collects on furniture, along baseboards, and in tight corners. The Guard M1 includes an upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle, and dusting brush stored inside the canister so they are close at hand. A height adjustable telescopic wand, adjustable suction, and a 36 foot operating radius make it easy to move through the house. Miele’s bagged filtration system captures the dirt you pick up, and the included Active AirClean exhaust filter helps reduce pet odors.
Is the TurboBrush right for your home? The STB 305-3 is an air driven brush designed primarily for low pile carpeting and area rugs. It is much less effective on medium or high pile carpet, where the thicker fibers can slow or stop the brushroll. If your home has those carpets, or anyone in the household has long hair, we recommend a Miele with an electric power nozzle such as the L1 Electro or L1 Electro Titanium. Their larger, powered brushroll handles substantial carpet cleaning better, is less prone to hair wrap, and is generally easier to keep clear of clogs.
